Hello! It's been a little while since my last post, Christmas time was taken up with working for Canon in stores promoting their products as well as training staff and customers. Now that has calmed down we've been getting back to the photography and have started creating new workshops and training options. We've rebuilt the training part of the website completely so if you haven't yet, take a look here.
Last month we had our first workshop of the year, this time it was speedlights.
Jade and I were able to secure a great location for it, a lovely cafe called The Caribou Rooms. It has so much character and a variety of different looks and styles. We started in the basement bar area with some quirky alcoves and little to no ambient light!
Jade helped to coach the guys on model direction, along with the printed pose cheat sheets we gave out, so that they could get used to communicating with Jade exactly what they wanted from each image.
Then we headed to the first floor, where there are lovely big windows letting in loads of beautiful light. During this part of the workshop we had a fantastic lunch as the food there is amazing!
We worked on balancing daylight and flash from then on, the weather held up long enough for us to be able to take a walk outside to do some outdoor headshots. We were able to cover High Speed Sync.
Thanks to all that came down! And thanks to The Caribou Rooms for being so hospitable!
