I've finally had some time to edit the behind the scenes video from a shoot I did a while back, It was a bit of an off the cuff shoot as we had some time between travels while up in Northamptonshire. Having driven past a red telephone box a few times that still looked fairly original (many of them now have big fluorescent defibrillators in them in the villages), a plan started forming in my mind of an image that could like quite cool there.

Last week I had a shoot with Element 5 Systems, this is a company run by 3 guys, Ian, Ross and Nathan in small workshop not far out from Lewes. Set in a stunning part of the countryside they build the sort of speakers that you'd imagine batman having in his cave for those lonely bat raves where I imagine Alfred is the DJ.

The Detective - Behind the scenes of the set build and design.
I had this idea for the next scene of my series of film stills, The image I had in my head was one of a bleak concrete walled interrogation room with a detective talking to my recurring character. For whom I realise now I don't have a name, we'll go with schmuck, but he is played by my good friend Doug primarily because there are few other people in the world I could dream of asking to go through what he goes through for me to get a picture! While this shoot is fairly tame he has been stamped on in the rain by a woman in heels, mock executed in a river and frozen while assisting me!

It was a rather dull and grey morning but we had some time before Jade went off to work so we decided to do a shoot, I rarely shoot in the house as, like many others, I take it for granted and don't think of it as much of an interesting location to shoot in. This with the less than appealing light through the window made it quite a challenge!

Last week Jade and I took a a trip up to Northampton to visit her family before her birthday. Jade had a shoot with someone while we were up there, but we figured we'd have time to create some stuff of our own. I had taken my lights and camera bag and just happen to keep a smoke machine in the back of my car... who knows when you'll need one after all. Check out the video below for a look at the set-up.
